In arrival at Kigali Airport, you will clear customs and collect your baggage. A representative will be waiting to welcome you and brief you on your safari. Outside the airport arrival section you will be transferred to your hotel. Accommodation will be in superior room.

Visit the genocide museum and enjoy a city tour of Kigali.

Depart on scenic drive North West wards through the beautiful terraced hillsides that display Rwanda’s landscape.
Arrive at Ruhengeri, the base for Gorilla trekking at the Parc National des Volcans. The town itself is located only 25km from Uganda boarder, is relatively a small city of about 70,000 people. The constant flow of humanity is quite remarkable. The Town has great views of the surrounding volcanoes.

After a morning breakfast you will go trekking the Golden Monkey in the Volcano National Park.
Trekking to see the golden monkeys is another highlight of Volcanoes National Park. The Golden Monkey (Cercopithecus Mitis Kandti) is a local subspecies of the widespread Sykes Monkey, also known as the “Blue Monkey” and is endemic to the high altitude forests of the Volcanoes National Park area. The monkeys are playful and inquisitive and often spend their time leaping from bamboo branches or frolicking on the forest floor.
There are two habituated groups of Golden Monkey, one group comprises around 80 – 100 members and has its home at the foot of Mt Sabyinyo. As with treks to see the Mountain Gorillas, treks to see the Golden Monkeys take place in the mornings and visitors are permitted to stay for 1 hour with the monkeys.
After the Golden monkey trekking, go back to your lodge for lunch.

Afternoon visit the Ibyiwacu cultural village.

Transfer to the Volcanoes National Park HQs for the first gorilla trek.
Briefing by your trackers then drive to the trail head for the start of your amazing Gorilla Tracking adventure.
Your trek again starts in the cultivated foothills of the Virunga’s offering stirring views in all directions. Upon sighting the gorillas, you will stay with them for a magical hour as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting; raising their young.

Porters may be hired for the trek to carry your backpack and gear.
The cost is ten USD per person/per day. We advise that you utilize this service.

After the trek, rejoin your driver Guide for a transfer to your lodge for lunch.

Afternoon visit the twin Lakes Ruhondo and Bulera.
